Our Story
Selkirk Offroad was built the same way most capable rigs are—through experience, trial and error, and a constant drive to do things better.
Based in Sagle, Idaho, what started as a passion for off-road exploration and overland travel quickly turned into something more. Long days on rough trails, remote camps, and real-world use made one thing clear: most builds look good, but far fewer actually perform when it counts.
We saw firsthand how easy it is to waste time and money on the wrong gear—parts that don’t work well together, don’t hold up, or simply aren’t built for how people actually use their vehicles.
So we built Selkirk Offroad around a simple idea:
Do it right the first time.
Where It Started
That mindset didn’t come out of nowhere.
Joe started in autobody and paint in 1995—learning how vehicles are built, how they fail, and what it takes to make them last. By 2009, he opened Joe’s Autobody, where years of hands-on work turned into a focus on Toyota Land Cruisers.
In 2014, that focus became The Land Cruiser Shop. Restorations became upgrades. Weak points were fixed. Real problems were solved. That’s where the first in-house products came from—dash repair kits, LS conversion kits, and EFI adapter kits—built to solve real problems, not chase trends.
Building Selkirk Offroad
As overlanding grew across the United States, Selkirk Offroad launched in 2019 to bring that same approach to a wider range of vehicles.
By 2022, that meant building complete systems—rear seat delete kits, bumpers, and roof racks designed for strength, simplicity, and real-world use. In 2024, those products became Trekk Systems—a dedicated line of in-house gear built to perform, mile after mile.
Carrying It Forward
The next generation carries it forward.
After serving six years in the United States Army, Joe’s son Colton returned and now manages Selkirk Offroad—bringing the same disciplined, practical mindset to the business.
What Hasn’t Changed
From the shop to the trail, the approach hasn’t changed.
Work hard. Build it right. Stand behind it.
What We Build
We build products and systems designed to work in the real world.
Not just to look good in a photo—but to hold up under load, over distance, and in changing conditions.
Everything we offer is selected or developed with purpose. Components that work together. Materials that last. Designs that make sense when you’re actually using your vehicle—not just talking about it.
From complete vehicle outfitting to in-house systems like rear seat delete kits, bumpers, and roof racks under Trekk Systems, the focus stays the same:
Keep it simple. Make it strong. Make it work.
Why It Matters
Your vehicle isn’t just a project—it’s something you depend on.
Whether it’s getting you to work, deep into the backcountry, or across the country, the gear you choose matters. The wrong setup costs time, money, and reliability when you need it most.
That’s why we approach every build with the same mindset:
If it goes on your vehicle, it should work. Every time.
Build It Right
You don’t need more parts—you need the right ones. Built to work together. Built to last. Built for how you actually use your vehicle.
If you’re ready to do it right the first time, we’re here when you are.
